Alan was appointed to the Board in August 2007 and was elected as Chairman following Janet Wood's resignation.

He has had a career in the field of overseas aid, with 17 years working in either developed countries or within the headquarters of a United Nations agency.  He was an Australian representative on the World Food Programme governing body for three years.

Alan has ongoing involvement with the Uniting Church and is Chair of Hotham Mission Council.
