The residents at Carnsworth are a lucky bunch as they get the chance to venture around Melbourne every fortnight. However, two to three times a year we hold a special outing, a big bus outing. We hire two wheelchair buses and take approximately 28 residents to the various destinations of interest.
Residents had a good time on our recent outing to the Dandenong Ranges, seeing the rhododendrons in bloom along the roadsides, watching the many birds being fed by staff and the bus drivers at Grants Picnic Ground, as well as having lunch looking out onto the scenery.
Twenty-eight residents, two relatives, two volunteers and three Leisure and Lifestyle staff participated in this outing.
It was thoroughly enjoyed by all involved.
