Strength Training
Our strength training programs are conducted by qualified fitness leaders and exercise physiologists. We are endorsed by Council on the Ageing (COTA) as one of the Living Longer Living Stronger providers. Each client is given a program to match their abilities and to improve fitness and strength.
There are a number of sessions throughout the week.
We also offer a gym transition program a couple of times during the year. Our fitness leader will assist eligible clients with the transition into the gym environment over an eight week period.
Cost: $5.00 per session.
Warm Water Exercises
Our qualified fitness leaders conduct this session at the Monash Aquatic Centre. The exercises are designed to either use the water’s resistance to strengthen muscles or the water’s buoyancy to assist clients to perform exercises that would be difficult on dry land.
This session is held weekly on a Tuesday afternoon. Eligibility screening is required prior to attendance.
Cost: $8.00 per session.
Tai Chi for Arthritis
The qualified instructor will lead participants through the various movements designed by Dr Paul Lam. This form of Tai Chi will help reduce the effects of arthritis by decreasing pain and stiffness and improving joint mobility and balance.
Please contact the centre for session times.
Cost: $5.00 per session.
Tai Chi for People with Parkinsons
This program is a modified program to cater for the needs of people with Parkinsons. The class runs weekly on a Thursday and includes monthly guest speakers.
Cost: $5.00 per session.
Health Promotion
