Aldersgate Village - Further Information
 

Lifestyle Program
A comprehensive range of social and recreational activities and programs are offered to our residents. 

Our Lifestyle Team delivers activities that meet our resident’s physical, cognitive, and social needs.  These activities include: cooking, gardening, creative arts, current affairs, quizzes, exercise classes, reminiscence groups, social activities, as well as regular outings and weekly bus trips.

All residents are encouraged to participate in the lifestyle programs to promote optimal wellness and maintain socialisation skills.


Allied Health Services
Physiotherapy and diversional therapy services are provided at no charge to residents of Aldersgate Village.  Podiatry services are available to all residents and there is no cost for podiatry services for our high care residents.


Other services
General Practitioners are encouraged to visit Aldersgate Village on a regular basis and staff from a local pharmacy deliver medication six days a week.

Hairdressing services are provided from a hairdressing salon available at Aldersgate Village and beautician and aromatherapy services are also available by appointment.


Palliative Care
24 hour nursing services and palliative care are available.

Our Palliative Care Committee consists of staff members who work in a team with residents, their families, our Chaplain and the residents’ GP, offering appropriate management, support, comfort and guidance.


Volunteers
Our volunteers make a valuable contribution to the well-being of residents through their participation in the Lifestyle Programs offered at Aldersgate Village. 

We are fortunate to have the assistance of Friends of Aldersgate; a group of dedicated volunteers who run our Kiosk and fundraise on behalf of Aldersgate Village.

Pastoral Care
Our Chaplain provides pastoral care services to residents and their families through listening, conversation, providing pastoral counselling, prayer and worship. Their support assists residents, families and staff through the major life transitions that are part of residential care.

Church services are provided on a weekly basis and are ecumenical.


Accreditation
Aldersgate Village is accredited by the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency, in recognition of quality care and our commitment to continuous improvement.
