Lifestyle Program
A comprehensive range of social and recreational activities and programs is offered to our residents.
Our Lifestyle Team delivers activities that meet our residents’ physical, cognitive, and social needs. These activities may include: cooking, gardening, creative arts, current affairs, quizzes, exercise classes, reminiscence groups, social activities, as well as regular outings and weekly bus trips and periodic fine dining experience.
Strathdevon has a Men’s Recreational Room ‘Keith’s Shed’ specifically for its Mens’ Group. Activities of interest to men are coordinated and may include: pool/billiards, TV programs, artwork and the construction of a model railway system.
Sensory parties are coordinated by Lifestyle staff and volunteers to provide residents with an opportunity to celebrate special events such as Melbourne Cup.
Strathdevon has a sensory room specially designed for residents living with dementia. The sensory room has proven to be a great success. It provides a convenient place for residents to visit and relax with staff and family members.
All residents are encouraged to participate in the lifestyle programs to promote optimal wellness and maintain socialisation skills.
Allied Health Services
Physiotherapy and podiatry services are provided. Other allied health services such as speech therapy, dietitian or occupational therapy, are available on a needs basis.
Hairdressing Salon
Our qualified hairdresser is available for residents from the Strathdevon hairdressing salon.
Palliative Care
24 hour nursing services and palliative care are available.
Our Palliative Care team consists of staff members who work in a team with residents, their families, our Chaplain and the residents’ GP, offering appropriate management, support, comfort and guidance.
Volunteers
Our volunteers make a valuable contribution to the well-being of residents through their participation in Lifestyle Programs.
We are also fortunate to have the assistance of the Strathdevon Auxiliary, a group of committed volunteers who operate the Strathdevon kiosk and coordinate a range of successful fundraising activities through the year. Money raised by the Strathdevon Auxiliary is used to purchase equipment and to assist residents to actively maintain their connection to the local community.

Our Chaplain provides pastoral care services to residents and their families through listening, conversation, providing pastoral counselling, prayer and worship. Their support assists residents, families and staff through the major life transitions that are part of residential care.
Church services are provided on a regular basis and are ecumenical.
