Ningana - Further Information

Lifestyle Program
A comprehensive range of social and recreational activities and programs is offered to our residents.

Our Lifestyle Team delivers activities that meet our residents physical, cognitive, and social needs. These activities include: cooking, gardening, creative arts, current affairs, quizzes, exercise classes, reminiscence groups, social activities, as well as regular outings and bus trips. Weekly individual music and pet therapy sessions are popular at Ningana.

All residents are encouraged to participate in the lifestyle programs to promote optimal wellness and maintain socialisation skills.

Allied Health Services
Physiotherapy, podiatry, speech therapy and dietitian services are available and may be organised through the facility in consultation with our Care Coordinators.

Palliative Care
24 hour nursing services and palliative care are available.

Our Palliative Care Interest Group consists of staff members who work in a team with residents, their families, our Chaplain and the residents’ GP, offering appropriate management, support, comfort and guidance.

Volunteers
Our volunteers make a valuable contribution to the wellbeing of residents. We are fortunate to have the Ningana Auxiliary, a group of committed volunteers, who operate the Ningana shop and coordinate a range of successful activities and events throughout the year.

Money raised by the Auxiliary is used to purchase equipment and assist residents to actively maintain their connection to the local community.

Pastoral Care
Our Chaplain provides pastoral care services to residents and their families through listening, conversation, providing pastoral counselling, prayer and worship. Their support assists residents, families and staff through the major life transitions that are part of residential care.

Church services are provided on a weekly basis and are ecumenical.

Accreditation
Ningana is accredited by the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency, in recognition of our excellence in quality care and our commitment to continuous improvement.
